Two brothers, Jose (Pepe) and Emilio Espinosa Rivera, are a hard working duo from the town of Pesquera del Duero, who, since childhood have had their lives governed by the wine world. In Ribera del Duero, winemaking is a way of life, where the grape harvests have always been a celebration that everyone participated in. Due to this upbringing, Jose and Emilio stress the importance of quality over quantity- a “less is more” approach to winemaking, by highlighting the charactaristics of their soils, their local climate, and the star grape of the region, Tinto Fino (Tempranillo). By blending traditional winemaking techniques of the region with modern technology, Bodegas Hesvera is producing some of the best wines we’ve tried from the region.
