With a long family history in the Alavesa region, Julio Martinez-Bujanada founded Bodegas Ondalán in 1976 for production with grapes exclusively from his own vineyards. In its continuing quest for quality, Bodegas Ondalán entered the world of Crianza and Reserva wines in 1999.
Bodegas Ondalán is located in Oyón. It has a vineyard of 71 hectares at an altitude of 440 – 480 m. The gently rolling slopes of limey-clay soils are of low-medium fertility, well-drained, and face southeast. The main grape variety is Tempranillo (83%), augmented by other noble varietals such as Graciano (12%), Mazuelo (3%), and Garnacha (2%).
